Built for the People Big Tech Left Behind
AKL Technology Services exists because everyone deserves reliable IT support — not just businesses with big budgets.
Why AKL Exists
Over the years, I kept noticing the same thing happening across the tech industry — big managed service providers and tech shops were shifting their focus almost entirely toward business contracts. The margins were better, the work was steadier, and individual clients got squeezed out. A homeowner with a struggling computer, a retiree who got hit with ransomware, a student who needed help setting up their first PC — these people weren't seen as worth the time.
"Regular people still need IT support — and they deserve someone who actually shows up for them."
That's what drove me to start AKL Technology Services. I wanted to build something local, personal, and honest — a place where individuals aren't an afterthought and small businesses aren't handed a one-size-fits-all contract. Just straightforward tech help from someone who genuinely enjoys solving problems.
I've been tinkering with computers for over 15 years and working professionally in IT for 9 — and the work still excites me the same way it did on day one. That's how you know you're in the right field.
Experience You Can Count On
Certified, Tested, and Always Learning
Certifications matter — but so does hands-on, real-world experience. Here's what's behind the work I do for every client.
CompTIA A+
Industry-standard certification covering hardware, operating systems, networking, security, and troubleshooting. The foundation of professional IT support.
CompTIA Network+
Validates expertise in network infrastructure, protocols, troubleshooting, and security — the backbone of everything from home Wi-Fi to business environments.
Windows & Windows Server
Nine years of professional experience working with Windows environments — from individual workstations to cloud server infrastructure, Active Directory, and beyond.
Linux
Over the last few years I've jumped fully into the Linux space — running, testing, and deploying Linux systems across my homelab and for clients who want an alternative to Windows.
The Homelab Advantage
Most IT professionals clock out and stop thinking about tech...not me. I love it, it's my passion. I have a dedicated homelab — a personal environment of servers, networks, and systems that I'm constantly building, breaking, and rebuilding. It's where I test new tools before recommending them to clients, explore emerging technologies, and stay sharp on everything from virtualization and network architecture to cybersecurity and Linux administration.
When something new comes out — a new threat, a new tool, a better way to do something — I've usually already been poking at it in the lab. That means you get solutions that are current, tested, and actually proven to work.
